PI® anti-nitrate filter strong

PI® anti-nitrate fil­ter strong reduces the nitrate con­t­a­m­i­na­tion of the water. We rec­om­mend the use in areas of inten­sive farm­ing.

Nitrate is for the most plants the main source of nitro­gen. Nitro­gen is essen­tial for the growth of the plants hence its use as fer­til­iz­er in agri­cul­ture.

Nitrate itself is no major threat for humans. It turns into nitrit and nitrosamine in the iner­s­tine though, which are much more poi­so­nous. The link­age of nitrate to haemo­glo­bin instead of oxi­gen results in oxi­gend defi­cien­cy in the body. Already an amount of 5 mg/l nitrate in the tap water caus­es can­cer. Espe­cial­ly for infants is nitrate due the reduced pro­duc­tion of gas­tric acid already in very small dos­es high­ly tox­ic. There­fore any con­tact of infants with nitrate should be avoid­ed.

Our PI® anit-nitrate fil­ter strong is able to fil­ter even high nitrate con­cen­tra­tion (up to max 100 mg/l) out of the water.
